This late October wedding we did on the Big Sur River in the redwoods was at Glen Oaks with the reception up at their Roadhouse restaurant. It was a very intimate ceremony with only 25 of their closest friends and family members. Everyone stayed at the resort in the little cabins on the river, so it was really fun for everyone to spend all that time together. We did full service planning, design, rentals and florals for the couple.
The ceremony was held just feet from the river and it was incredibly sweet, green and peaceful. The vintage rugs from our sister company Stardust added color and safety from heels slipping on the soft dewey grass. She used our battery operated sound system for the ceremony music. The Glen Oaks staff poured water and champagne after the ceremony while the guests mingled and family portraits were taken.
The reception was held up at the Roadhouse restaurant, and they rented out the entire thing (front patio, back patio and inside). We decided to keep the inside of the restaurant as the dancing and loungey space for the guests to retreat to once cold descended. The dinner was served right at sunset, so it was twinkly and comfortable with the firepits and heaters and blankets from Stardust. The couple wanted a beautiful, magical whimsical and lush feel to the tablescape, which we accented with brass candlesticks, colored glass lanterns, brass animals, brass vessels and live moss. For the name place holders, Jamie bought agate slices in jewel tones and wrote with gold sharpie pen. Andrea’s florals were in rich berry & green tones with interesting textures and foliage.
Photos were by the talented Priscila Valentina out of LA. Makeup by Face Forward Bridal out of Carmel and the tiny cake was made by the Buttery in Santa Cruz. The bride’s family made brownies.
