Florals & custom Signage
Blain came to Big Sur from a background in Manhattan contemporary art galleries & surfing. She has been here in Big Sur almost ten years living on ranches and ridges, taking care of animals, gardening, making drawings, and building picture frames.
In her arrangements she enjoys playing with perfumed blossoms, herbs and greenery, texture and movement, and classical or unconventional combinations of color. This all comes together through the indescribable efforts of local garden growers, farmers and proprietors. She likes foraging and the surprise of finding elements of her work in unusual places— twisted branches on a long horseback ride, tiny alpine saxifrage in a granite crack along a climb in the Sierra Nevada, expertly tended roses growing in the grocery store parking lot.
She spends her free time outdoors and in the water.
